Podcast: Art House cinema podcast, July '07


Yes, we know it's really late again, but you can now hear Resonance FM's latest Art House cinema podcast featuring reviews of films released this month at 'Art House' cinemas in London and is presented by Alex Fitch, Virginie Sélavy (editor of Electric Sheep Magazine) and Jessica Fostekew (a member of the comedy improv group The Institute, who is in a variety of shows at the Edinburgh festival)...

Podcast: Transformers - ...and now

Geoff SeniorWith the new Transformers movie currently in cinemas, Alex Fitch and Duncan Nott conclude their interview with the writer (Simon Furman) and one of the most acclaimed artists (Geoff Senior) of the seminal British Transformers comic from the 1980s looking at Furman's continuation of the mythos for a variety of publishers, Senior's new career as a graphic designer and what they think of the live action movie...

Tonight's show: Larger than life part 1

Tonight, as I'm ready for my close-up goes podcast only for the next four weeks*, it's the first of two shows looking at the largest of large screen cinema. In part one, Alex Fitch interviews David Strohmaier, director of the documentary Cinerama Adventure which looks at the rise and fall of the seminal 1950s big screen format from its initial use as a military application, how the revolutionary three camera and projector format was used for nature documentaries and feature films to its disuse and legacy in other large screen formats.

No show this week, I'm afraid. As Resonance is in the middle of moving to a new studio, it's become too difficult to arrange scheduled programming. Hopefully regular transmissions will resume next week...

Uncut interview: Peter David part 2

Continuing our occasional series of hour long uncut versions of the interviews that were recorded for I'm ready for my close-up and Panel Borders, we have the second half of Paul Cornell's complete interview with Peter David regarding his career in comics, sci-fi novels and the small screen.


This selection (which is in the chronological order it was recorded) represents the second half of yesterday's PB plus three quarters of an hour of additional material.




Paul and Peter talk about writing Doctor Who and Star Trek: The next generation novels respectively, Americans doing British accents (and vice versa) on TV, Babylon 5 and the shock of having written 1000 comics (with interjections by Alex Fitch).
